when will playstation 3 games get cheaper?
i recently bought Killzone 2 because it’s exclusive on ps3, (don’t get me wrong i freaking love the game) but baseball season has started and i don’t have 09 the show yet because games are $60 + tax = $67 something. does anyone know if or when prices of playstation 3 games will be coming down? thanks in advanced!
Every new ps3 console sold pushes the day they get cheaper farther away.
You still see some Ps2 Games sold for $50 too. Many for $40. After 10 years, they’re still the same price retail.
It’s not a question of when, but of which ones. Killzone won’t get cheaper because they’ve got the whole world chanting “graphics graphics.” Resident Evil 5 won’t get any cheaper. But… Burnout Paradise got a whole lot cheaper, down to $20. I saw a copy of Assassin’s Creed used for $10 in one of my local stores. You can probably get Genji Days of the Blade for $5.
Once a game can be bought used, supply and demand kicks it to determine its real value. Retail is never real value, it is always markup, the price you pay for the convenience of having the game delivered to you pronto as soon as it’s released. If a game has already been around for a month or two, it’s wiser to look in the buy/sell stores for used copies, because they’ll be there. I have seen MLB the Show for as little as $15. Naturally of course, when MLB the Show ‘10 is released, ‘09 will drop to $5 in value.
There were even those couple of games that dared to go above $60… what was it, Battlefield Bad Company… wasn’t metal gear… can’t remember. But there was one. I kind of suspect Polyphony may try to pull a stunt like that with Gran Turismo 5.
